So, the Indianapolis Colts are done.  The RCA Dome has seen its last day.  But, did any of you watch the game this past Sunday?  In the words of our dear friend from Waiting for Guffman, "Wu hoppen?"  We had the #2 pass defense in the NFL!  We had Bob Sanders, the 2007 NFL Defensive Player of the Year!  As quoted in his national bestseller Quite Strength, Tony Dungy says that he lives by the motto, "No excuses, no explanations."  I respect Coach Dungy and agree with almost everything he says and does, but MY WORD!!!, I want an explanation for what happened!  After a few days of recuperation and alone time, I have finally been able to move on.

As I gaze upon the horizon of next year's season, I can not help but notice the subtle but defining rays of potential and hope.  Almost all of the starters for the Indianapolis Colts should be returning.  Not to mention that the Indianapolis Colts are moving next door into the most intimidating stadium ever built in the history of the world...the Lucas Oil Stadium!  The only dark part of the horizon is the possibility that Coach (That's Tony Dungy for all of you fair weather, ignorant, or apathetic sports fans) is possibly going to retire.  I empathize with you; my stomach drops, too, when I even mention the possibility.  He was the foundation for our lean mean intimidating fighting machine known as the Indianapolis Colts.  Until Monday, when Coach announces his decision, I will wait nervously as if I was 10 again and it was Christmas Eve for 4 days in a row.  But, if our foundation stands firm and Coach decides to stay, we will be the fiercest fighting force the NFL has ever seen.  And, I will go on the record now as claiming the Indianapolis Colts the Super Bowl XLIII Champs.  This statement is not up for debate.  Case closed.
