A rumor has been circulating in Indianapolis that the Indianapolis Colts have asked me to start at quarterback during next week's regular season opening game.

While I do in fact possess a natural talent and fit for the quarterback position in the NFL, the rumors are in fact categorically untrue.  I will NOT be starting for the Colts.

While this young girl is devastated by the news, most fans will rejoice.

Great news!  Peyton Manning is back and will be starting for the Colts!

Grab the horses, milk the cows, and round up the maidens!  Peyton is back!!!

Get your Indianapolis Colts tickets now to see Peyton lead the Colts against the Chicago Bears in the regular season opener at the new Lucas Oil Stadium.

Peyton Manning says that he will most likely dress on Thursday.  This means that there is a slight chance that he might get some action against the Bengals.  While the chance of him playing is slim to none, there still is a chance.  With ticket prices as low as $19 you would be crazy to miss the first game that Peyton might play in this season.  Circle City Tickets has your affordable Indianapolis Colts Tickets!  Call us today at 1-800-627-1334.

Back to the Colts.  However, this time we are going to focus on a different part of the game.  For those of you watching the Indianapolis Colts vs. San Diego Chargers game on Sunday, did you happen to catch the brief recognition of the winners of the punt, pass, and kick competition during halftime?  For those of you who were at the game, I’m sure you remember the incident quite vividly.  As I would put it…it was a prideful moment for not only my team but my city as well.  Let me recap the situation for those of you who missed it:

Every year there is a national competition for children and teenagers to see who is the most dominant in the categories of punting, passing, and kicking a football.  The challenge is for both boys and girls.  So, at the halftime of this year’s AFC playoff game at the RCA Dome, the welcoming city of Indianapolis decided to recognize those winners of the competition and congratulate them.  There is one important piece of information that was vital to the situation.  Each winner of the competition, divided by age groups, chose to wear their beloved team’s jersey while they were being recognized.  So, as the competitors were being introduced, the camera focused on each winner, recognizing them individually.  Each person received a warm applause by the crowd, supporting them and congratulating them for their accomplishments.  However, when the camera focused on one particular girl, fourteen year old Anny Grant of New Hampshire, the crowd did not recognize her in a similar fashion.  Instead of congratulatory applause, she received a most defining “BOO,” and might I add, for good reason.  She came in to our house, the RCA Dome, the home of the Indianapolis Colts, and chose to wear a New England Patriots jersey.  Anyone who follows the NFL, and these children obviously do, would know that the New England Patriots are the most despised team in the NFL.  Not only that, but she just so happened to flaunt her pride in an atmosphere where the word “Patriots” can get a man in a hurt of trouble.

Now the issue has been raised as to what or whom the fans were booing.  It is obvious that the fans were not booing young Anny Grant and mocking her accomplishments as an athlete.  Instead, they were remembering their recent defeat only a few months prior as well as gloating over their domination from the previous season’s AFC Championship.  An individual ridiculously ignorant to the competitive nature of sports commented on this matter by replying to an article in TheStarPress.com.  “Devery” wrote, “It doesn't matter what they were booing - it was tasteless and classless. Thank God she is more mature than the fans booing her. She was sponsored by the Pats and was wearing their jersey. Again, it was shameful behavior and I am so glad she was as mature as she was and dealt with the situation beautifully. She must have a wonderful support system. Most kids her age wouldn't have been able to deal with that kind of negatively. She is truly an impressive kid.”  Come on!!  What an absurd response.

First of all, Anny even told reporters that, “It didn’t bother me at all…I knew what it was for. I just laughed along with it; thought it was funny,” (www.wthr.com).  So, the sympathy card that everyone seems to be throwing at this girl needs to stop.  Young and innocent Anny Grant knew exactly what kind of environment she was entering and therefore deserves every kind of response she received.  I do not care how young you are, nobody, and I mean NOBODY, wears a New England Patriots jersey into the Indianapolis Colts’ house and gets away with it.  “Anny, I’m sorry you were the recipient of the boos.  But, you got what you deserved.”  Anyone that displays that kind of absurd loyalty to a team and coach that defaces the name of the game should be showered with boos every time they touch their jersey.

Second, what is with this showering of gifts upon this girl?!  The Patriots I can understand.  If they sponsored the girl, they should find it necessary to coddle and corrupt this young misguided teen, continuing to possess her mind making her think their team is respectable.  But what is Indianapolis doing?  We have since offered her tickets to come back to Indianapolis to sit in VIP seating at our beloved Indianapolis 500!  I see two wrongs with this situation.  First, the young girl is invited back.  And second, she is showered with gifts.  How absurd!  Our fans’ actions at the RCA Dome were no way shameful.  In fact, our governor Mitch Daniels should have been the first to congratulate the Colts fans and the first to give young Anny a boot back to her homeland.  Well, that may be a little harsh.  But, I will say, the girl got what she deserved.  This statement is not up for debate.  Case closed.

The astounding dancers from the hit reality show, “Dancing with the Stars” are making a tour stop at our own Conseco Fieldhouse on the 18th of January.  Although the tour has been getting attention all around the country, this particular show is going to be above and beyond the other tour stops.  Indianapolis is the only city that gets to host all 12 contestants, including the 2007 winner of “Dancing with the Stars,” Helio Castroneves.

Helio has been near and dear to Indiana fans since his first IndyCar race in 2000.  He has since won 12 IndyCar races and won the Indianapolis 500 twice.  Helio has a great personality, along with tremendous sportsmanship that has gained him popularity worldwide.  Not to mention, his success has caused more and more sports fans to get involved with the show and has helped the IRL gain the attention that it greatly needed.

The show is also filled with 11 other amazingly talented contestants, causing this season to be the most watched season so far.  Don’t miss the chance to see your favorite dancers from season 5 live this January.  Buy your tickets now at Circle City Tickets and you are guaranteed a lively night filled with nothing but 10's...

Late Christmas morning I found myself captivated by the Walt Disney World Parade on the small TV screen in the kitchen.  Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Jasmine, and friends all trotted and twirled around to the fancy, whimsical tune tinkering in the background.  A rush of childhood memories returned to me, followed by a marvelously warm, fuzzy feeling.  This trance, however, was rudely interrupted by the shrieking, gleeful screams of the young girls in the crowd.  The newest rendition of Menudo was making its way past ABC’s cameras, and from the desperate tears of one or two fans I could tell this group of boys was a big deal.

As a major, and I’m talking major, Backstreet Boys, N’Sync, 98 Degrees, LFO, any singing group with semi-attractive males in it fan from back in the day, I was surprised to find a group this popular that I was unaware still existed.  One day Monti, Jose, Carlos, Emmanuel and Chris had made their way into the hearts of girls across the world, and yet somehow, I had missed it.  This got me pandering on the ever-changing world of music and what’s to come in 2008.

Sure there are the static artists, Madonna, Prince, Celine Dion, Rolling Stones, but what about the names in music you fall in love with for a couple years only to find them gone from the planet before their junior album is completed?  Too often something as minor as a poor managerial decision has caused many of the could-be greats to leave us wanting more.  You never know when a new artist could be the next phenomenon, but you also never know how quickly they can become just another scratched CD in your music collection.

A concert is an experience that brings you closer to the music and those who perform the lyrics that won your approval.  A favorite song can live in your iPod forever, or until it gets busted, but the chance to hear it played live could only come around once.  With dozens of concert tours already lined up for 2008, starring both the familiar and the new, why not jump on the opportunity to buy tickets?  Why not go see Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson at the same show if you love them both?  (That for sure will not come around again!)

So this new year, while the diets will be the same as always, the gym will still look as it did a year ago when you were last there, the money will spend as it always has, resolve to be a part of something that won’t be around forever… the opportunity presented through Circle City Tickets to experience your favorite music serenaded to you live.  You just might regret it as much as any Menudo fan who was sans tickets to touch Monti’s spirit fingers at the Walt Disney World Parade.

How much thought do we football fans actually put into the names of prominent players or coaches?  I would venture to guess very little.  However, as I was standing waiting to have my tickets scanned for an Indianapolis Colts football game, I began to think about the names of two coaches--Tony Dungy (the good), and Bill Belichick (the bad).

First, the bad.  Bill Belichick. Of course there are the common nicknames of Belicheat and Bellychick, but upon closer examination of the anatomy of his name we gain valuable insights about this coach of the lowly New England Patriots.  Let's break it down, shall we?  The first part of his name--Beli.  Beli is acutally a latin root meaning "war-like, relating to warfare."  You may notice it in words like rebellion, anti-bellum, belligerent, etc.

Fascinating!

If we continue, we come to the last part of his name--chick.  You can go one of two ways with this.  You can use chick either as a baby chicken, or as a slang term for a girl.  I prefer the latter in this instance.

So let us then put this together.  Belichick when broken down really means "war-like girl."  Unbelievable!  It all makes sense doesn't it!

On the flip side, Dungy is acually a word in ancient gaelic which literally means "one who is a great leader."  The word was also used in a form in medieval latin to mean variously "integrity" and "winner."

Fascinating!

Common english usage also has "Dungy" as a synonym of "awesome" (Ex. That new movie was so dungy!) and Belichick as a rough synonym of "evil." (Ex. Those bad guys in the movie had a belichick view about human life.)  "The Belichick" is also used as the name for a handshake where one person blows off the other person with a dead-fish handshake and no eye contact.

So football fans, take it as you wish.  I just know when I buy my next football tickets from www.circlecitytickets.com, I want to be supporting the great leader, not the war-like girl.  Go Colts.  And go buy your football tickets from www.circlecitytickets.com before you go to the next football game to support the Colts!
